LOSING MY MIND -THEN GET GODS Part 2 of 2
This is our last talk of this 5-part series on Losing My Mind.
Previously we discussed that our mind thinks more than 23,000 thoughts per hour, and most of those are not self-encouraging.

There are some of us who think that the only problem with our current mind is knowledge. They believe if we only had more knowledge, then we would be just fine. That would mean that education is our redeemer and not God. Wonder how’s that working out?
Truthfully the more of man’s knowledge that we get the more deviant we become. We have conjured up more elaborate scams, created numerous complex embezzlements, plotted more perilous crimes in this age of technology than in the previous one hundred years.
There is a Proverb that puts it this way. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but it leads to more ways of death.”
We are not wise enough to safeguard ourselves.
We are human, not computers. Our mind does not sort and correlate all the data and then present it to our heart to systematically run programs to write an algorithm to predict the best planned outcome.
That’s not how we were made.
We were made from Spirit, because God is Spirit, and our mind has a Spirit.
Our mind’s spirit is what we know as a “Mind Set”.
Our mind doesn’t just view things; it also has a viewpoint of things. It has a mindset. It formulates prejudices, tendencies, preferences, demeanor and even has its own will.
We’ve heard it said, “Our mind has a mind of its own!”
Not only are our minds limited, but they are also flawed.
That’s why we must be renewed in the “Spirit” of our mind. We need Gods mind!
Our minds are naturally self-motivated not God motivated. Everything we do is for our selective view of good, not from Gods complete view of what is good.
We tend to be self-serving, whereas God is others-serving.
Getting the mind of God means that we become more mindful of the needs of others and less mindful for ourselves. We must trust God to take care of us, as we take care of others.
The truth of the matter is that we cannot, nor have we ever seen ourselves. When we look in the mirror or see a picture of ourselves it is only a reflective replica image of us. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ME! This was a revelation shared with me by my dear friend Tiffani Real.
This is important as it relates to the fact that we have never seen the face of God. We will be changed into his image as we have our minds transformed into his mind. Gods Spirit will help us to be Gods Spirit led in all things.
When we see him, we shall be made like him, because then we will really see him. 1 John 3
The work of the Spirit is both inner and outer.
The inner work is in our hearts and judgements. The outer work is in our thoughts and how we process things.
Here are 3 keys to processing a thought:
1. Don’t assume every thought you receive is True.
Most of what we think was presented to us by an informant. Not all informants have pure motives. If all information were true then we wouldn’t feel confused, tricked, troubled, by our thoughts. We naturally feel that it must be true because we believe it came from within us. Not True!
2. Make sure to take out the Trash.
GIGO garbage in garbage out
If you allow mental garbage to get into your mind, then you will get garbage in your life.
“A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash” Proverbs 15:14
3. The best awareness is Self-Awareness.
Know where a thought originates. Someone gave Adam the thought in the garden of Eden that he was inferior, unfit, and unwanted by God. God asked Adam to check his source. “Who told you that?” Genesis 3:11.
“The god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:4
God doesn’t want us to change to get something, he wants us to change to become something. A better version of ourselves!
Real Truth is never invented; it is only discovered.
In order to discover the Truth, we must T.H.I.N.K. like God
T -Talk to God about your thoughts. Psalm 139 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any harmful way in me and lead me in the way everlasting! ”Don’t believe everything you think..
H – Hear what is being said and hear what is not being said! Do not be deceived.
I – Informed. Stay Informed about the traps of the evil one. Know who’s feeding you your information.
N - Nourished yourself daily in God’s word. Read, read, read.
K – Know Gods character. Verify your facts. If it doesn’t line up with Gods character don’t trust it.
