MENTAL HEALTH
Mental Health simply refers to a person’s psychological state as it relates to the impact that it has on their emotional and physical self.
There is a direct correlation between our Mental Health and our lifestyle, it’s called our thoughts.
Our thoughts direct both our Mental Health condition and our lifestyle.
The Bible puts it this way, you live, as your thoughts dictate.
Here is the revelation that the Lord gave me concerning this matter: “Our Mind, is like the rudder on the boat of our Soul, that guides us through the oceans of life. Our thoughts have led us into every shipwreck we had or guided us out of every storm we averted.”
Mental Health encompasses a compilation of thoughts, feelings, manageability, sense of self, relationships and our overall socialization.
In short, our Mental Health condition is seen in how well we handle life.
When we are in good Mental Health we can cope with challenges, achieve our goals, and live fulfilling lives.
Conversely, if we are in poor Mental Health, we struggle with others, ourselves, and find it daunting just to experience simple happiness.
It’s the difference between allowing our thoughts to handle us vs us handling our thoughts. Do our thoughts lead us, or do we lead them?
When we are in poor Mental Health, our thoughts lead us into Dis-Ease, Dis-Order, Dys-Function, and Dis-Illusionment.
Which is why, we can’t rest, we’re out of order, we can’t function properly, and we can’t see any way out. That’s poor Mental Health.
So how do we get, or maintain, good Mental Health? Glad you asked.
First, we must understand that our Mental Health impacts a lot more than just our mental status.
Our Mental Health also influences our Physical and Spiritual Health as well. Hence the phrase, Mind, Body, Spirit! It’s a domino effect.
Our mindset is the key component to having good Mental Health.
God foreknew this, that’s why he spoke about our mind, thoughts, and mindset on more than 400 different occasions throughout the Bible.
This means that each day we can get a word, direction, guidance, to help us have good Mental Health thoughts from the Creator of our minds.
Also noted, “And” shows up more than 30,000 times in the good book.
And the cherry on the top is, “Jehovah” – the Creator of everything that has been created, appears in the Bible more than 75,000 times.
If we put all this together, it means that for each 365-calendar day that we have a mental issue, there’s a word for us. There are also 80 times more “And’s” to go along with that thought, and we can finish off every crazy thought that comes our way with 160 times greater and more powerful thought that Jehovah is with us! Glory to God! We are not doing life alone.
Our mind has the capacity to handle a lot of things. Many of us know this quite well. Our brain is incapable of forgetting something on its own
But there is a limit to its capacity. Our mind cannot hold infinite amounts of information, experiences, or impulses.
Think of the mind like a PC or cell phone. The more information it gets, the slower it responds. We experience mental latency when this happens.
We too have some apps that are constantly running in our background. Was I supposed to …? Why did they do that? Is that who she’s with now? Did he …? Did they …? Does that mean …? Blah, Blah, Blah. You probably have something running right now in your background.
When this happens to our PC or cell phone, we need to purge and reset.
Our brains are no different. When’s the last time you had a brain purge? A thought detox? Took a mental laxative? Turned off and rebooted?
We get so backed up with thoughts of politics, power, economy, environment, religion, relationships, social rights, socialism, sexism, spiritualism, skepticism and countless other ism’s that it hinders us.
Given our limited thought capacity, all the thoughts of Worry, don’t allow room for thoughts of Peace. Space is limited. All the Guilt chews up all the places where Confidence should be. All the Hate eats all the ram reserved for Love. And that huge firewall of Fear that we’ve spent years building gives Faith no chance to come in and offer us any help.
That’s why we don’t have room for the good things in life, because we have allowed all the space to go to the bad things in life. Limited space.
We just need a Big Dump! After that I’m sure we’ll feel better.
Our minds, much like our bodies, hold toxins that need to be released.
We need a suppository in the spirit to help us cleanse our thoughts.
Some castor oil for our Mental Constipation. We need a Spiritual Reboot
We must allow God’s Holy Word to cleanse us, Mind, Body, and Spirit.
Let’s focus on becoming well, Mentally, Physically, Emotionally, and Spiritually and then share how we did it with others to help them too!
Amen.
