MOUTH ALMIGHTY TONGUE EVRLASTING
Mouth Almighty was slang for someone who had a big mouth. Always talking.
There was also a reference to Mouth Almighty in a song called “Big Mouth”
Here are some of its lyrics, “Mouth Almighty, Tongue Everlasting, You gotta a big mouth, a big mouth” Shout outs to my boys Whodini.
Another popular group from that era was, RUN DMC, who put out this song “You Talk Too Much”. Some of its lyrics were, “the cat took your tongue, and you took it right back, you talk too much, and you don’t ever shut up!”
“25 hours a day, 8 days a week, 13 months a year, is when you speak, Shut Up!”
Shout out to the 80’s babies. What a great time.
Paying homage to those songs, got me to thinking about us, people, humanity.
Why are Humans the only species that God created, who can talk?
Why do we need speech? Other species communicate fine without speech.
Why were we given a mouth to talk, and ears to hear what we say? Hmmm
The answer to both is God. We are the only ones, God made in his image.
Since He is a Speaking God, we speak. We can talk & hear because he can as well.
Its interesting to note than many other gods, can’t talk because they are statutes. Hence the term idol.
God spoke and created things, we speak and create things. Good & Bad! Amen
Ok, but why did God have to say Let there be light? Why couldn’t he just have waved a finger, clapped his hands, or blinked an eye?
Because God had to hear what he said. That’s how Faith gets activated.
Faith comes by hearing the WORD OF GOD.
So, God must hear his own WORDS for them to come to pass. Those are the rules.
Nothing that we have ever known of, would have ever existed, unless God spoke his WORD, then he had to hear the WORD he spoke, for it to manifest into reality.
Words are not just vibrations and sounds, that are created by our mouth shaping and redirecting air, with the help of our tongue, as is passes through our larynx.
Words have real power!
“Through Faith we understand that the world was formed by the word of God”
Adam had to speak things into existence, just as his father God did.
Whatever words Adam called it, it became. Kind of like this:
“You, that clump of dirt over there, you are a bird” It grew wings and started to fly.
“You, that clump of dirt over there, you are a fish” It grew scales and fins and started to swim.
God said that whatever Adam spoke, it was so.
Adam had to operate within certain parameters. We will discuss in detail later.
The power to create was in Adams tongue, and it got confirmed in his hearing it.
Just like with us today. We say, “Its 8am and its going to be a rough day for me.” Whatever you say!
“I just can’t seem to get this right” Whatever, you say!
“I’m broke” “I will never..” “I’m useless” Whatever you say!
Words are so important, that we are going to have to answer to God, for what we have said.
Listen to what brother Matthew said, “But I tell you that everyone will have to give an account on the day of judgement for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
Now we know, that we humans, have also been given a great responsibility, to go along with this powerful gift of speech.
Like it or hate it, believe it or not, --words matter.
Words set spiritual laws in motion. Words birth results one way or the other.
Feel free, to join me in the same prayer that David did, one who said to be, a man after Gods own heart.
“Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips” Ps 141
