HEALTHY LIFESTYLE HABITS Part Four – Pure Air
The air we breathe is a key component of a Healthy Lifestyle. My Faith manual states that in the beginning, God created pure air. He called it the firmament, which is the sky or heavens above that gives us the air we breathe. Air is that constant pressure that we feel around us. The effects of the air that is around us can be seen in many places, like the trees, animals, plants, etc. Air is the fundamental building block for life. In order to have a Healthy Lifestyle, we need Pure Air.
Our lungs resemble a sponge in many ways. All the millions of tiny pockets within our lungs, take the air around us and convert it to enter our bloodstream as oxygen. Wow, what a miraculous event. This happens every time we take a breath. Our body is a miracle from God. A single breath of air travels at about 50 miles per hour into our lungs, to begin the conversion process. When we sneeze or cough, that number is increased to 15 times faster, at a rate of about 750 miles per hour. That is why we say God bless you when someone sneezes because we know God has blessed them to live through that major life event. Simply stated, the air around us is the source of our life, thus it is extremely important to Healthy Lifestyle Habits to intake the best air, Pure Air.
Sometimes the air we breathe can have germs, diseases, harmful viruses, and contaminations much like what we are experiencing around us now. That is why we must take every precaution to stay safe. Another well-known enemy of Pure Air is pollution. Outside air pollution has been proven to be very dangerous to our health. That is why there are so many initiatives to keep the air clean from fossil fuels, carbon monoxide, and other pollutants. There is also something called inside pollution, like asbestos, lead and radon to name a few. Any pollution is harmful to us. This brings me back to the beginning when God made the firmament. Another definition of the firmament is a collection of people.
Just as we are mindful of natural pollutants, we should be equally wary about those derived from humans, ourselves included. What kind of people firmament is around you? What air are you breathing in from them? Is your atmosphere causing your spirit to work harder to convert something bad into something useable for your motivation?
Have you allowed toxic people into your breathing space? Perhaps they do not mean to be toxic to you, but they are. They are negative, fearful, dramatic, always being victimized, pessimistic about the future, and condescending of others. Some of us might have just pictured someone we know like the person I described. We must safeguard the air around us. We need Pure Air to go into our spiritual lungs to function properly when we are trying to believe for something to happen. Just as second-hand smoke is harmful, so too is second-hand fear, worry, and drama. A good friend once told me, do not let other people’s issues become your issues.
The inside pollutants come from the contaminating thoughts that we allow in. Inferiority, insecurity, low self-worth are good examples of this toxic thinking. Pure Air is I am Divinely Dysfunctional and Unique on Purpose (click the title to see my book), I am valuable, and I have a purpose that I will fulfill, that no one else can do but me. That is why I was created. Fill your lungs we these types of thoughts. You are not better than anyone else, because you are an original. You cannot be compared to anyone because no one has your fingerprints or dental imprints. So be your best you, as only you can. Surround yourself with Pure Air, breathe in Pure Air, keep Pure Air circulating within your heart and mind, and live a healthy long life! God Bless You.
This is a Thompson Truth.
