THE SUPREME ATTESTATION
When someone attests to something they are validating it as true, authentic, and genuine. It’s kind of like saying I will personally vouch for their credibility and trustworthiness.
Validation and accreditation are trophies that we all are constantly seeking.
It begins as early as childhood, when we want to hear someone, anyone, say good boy or good girl.
We have always longed for someone to value us; a friend, a lover, a person in authority, someone we esteem highly.
That’s why we want that degree, that title, that salary, that house, that person, that car, or whatever other symbol of achievement we think will give us that accreditation to allow someone to speak well of us.
We long for credit; credit for being a good person, a good parent, a good friend, a good mate, a good neighbor, a good child, the list goes on and on.
Is there anyone who will attest to who we are? Is there anyone who will say we are great, or at least good at something? Can or will anyone say, they see the good in me?
The answer is a resounding YES! God sees the good in each of us.
Tears came to my eyes as I write this. I felt approved and accepted.
I pray you feel the same from hearing those words. God Sees the Good in You!
Just allow yourself to sit in that for a moment.
Allow me to say that another way. GOD HAS FAITH IN YOU!
Yes, God has Faith in YOU.
He has put his faith squarely in you. Let that resonate with you for a minute.
Look at this statement that was made; what is man, that you are so mindful of him?
In other words, God what makes you have so much faith in them?
We all know that mankind doesn’t have the best resume and track record.
Afterall, Adam and Eve were disobedient and fraternized with the enemy, Cain was a murderer, Noah got drunk and publicly indecent, Abraham got a woman, other than his wife pregnant, David was an adulterer and murderer, Rahab sold her body for money, Elijah and John Mark were deserters, Tamar slept with her father in law to get pregnant, Peter lied on JESUS, Peter LIED on JESUS, Saul/Paul participated in the execution of Christians, and Benton Thompson III, that dude, …let me just say, Thank you Lord for your Faith in us!
Despite destroying the planet and one another, God still has faith in us!
God has always had faith in us. He put his faith in you and me long before we were ever born.
I have proof of this that I would like for you to consider.
God had so much faith in us that he wagered what mattered most to him, his only son Jesus.
He bet Jesus’ life, that we would accept the invitation to come back in fellowship with him. To come back home to him, where we belong.
Now that’s some faith! Which of us, who have children, would bet their child’s life on anything for any reason?
God also showed his faith in us by creating us, as the only ones, in his image.
No one or nothing else, did he use himself as the mold, for how to make it. Only to mankind did he give his name, in likeness and image, despite knowing full well what we would do and become.
We can all be protective of our inner sanctum, our home, our personal space.
God is also. He is very particular about his temple. The place where he will reside.
He chose our mortal bodies as the perfect location on Earth for his spirit, the Precious Holy Spirit, to reside and dwell in.
He entrusted His likeness, His son, and His dwelling place to us. That’s Faith!
