UNBLESSABLE
If we’re being truly honest here, many of us, if not most, or all of us, have felt UnBlessable at some point in time in our life.
Our belief in thinking that we are UnBlessable is more of an indictment of ourselves, than it is against God.
We feel UnBlessable as in we’re unable, unsuitable, or unworthy to receive a blessing.
Others are worthy, and deserve of a blessing, but not me. Is what we tell ourselves.
There are a few things we might feel we could possibly deserve, but other stuff, the really big stuff, no way.
Happiness, love, marriage, children, a great life, success, promotion, peace, stability, wealth, are things we feel are not meant for us.
We feel wretched, unlucky, unfortunate, in need of punishment, or possibly even outright damned. It’s a self-damnation. We feel UnBlessable.
This a sentiment that we picked up somewhere, and we failed to put it back down.
Maybe it was because of what a religious person said. Or perhaps a family member, someone we admired, someone we were in a relationship with, maybe even just some random person off the streets planted that seed.
Whoever it was, wherever it was, it made us feel as if though we are UnBlessable.
Sometimes the culprit is us! Because we hadn’t forgiven ourselves for something that happened.
In some cases, it happened during our childhood, in other cases it happened in adulthood.
Either way, Lies, All Lies! WE ARE BLESSABLE! YOU ARE BLESSABLE!
YOU ARE BLESSED! You’ve been Blessed all along, and I’ll prove it to you.
We live in a time and culture where everything is made to appear perfect.
So, we strive to be that perfect person, a perfect parent, a perfect mate. Have a perfect body, have a perfect life, be a perfect Christian, be perfect at everything.
Those who aren’t perfect are spreading the narrative that we should be perfect.
God’s word says that no one is perfect. Yet he loves us still.
We speak negatively about our weight, our looks, our intelligence, our race, and our pedigree.
All because we have chosen to believe the lie that we are UnBlessable.
Truth is, we look like our Heavenly Father God. We were made in his image.
So, let’s start there and get rid of all the negative self-image talk.
God says we were beautifully and wonderfully made.
Often the problem isn’t what others think about us, it’s what we think about ourselves.
Sometimes we compare ourselves to others whom we think have it all together.
We need to stop despising what were aren’t and start appreciating what we are!
We must allow the wounds to heal from the arrows of insecurity.
Did you know that your self-image has a direct impact on your Faith?
Our feelings about ourselves effect our ability to receive Gods promised blessings.
God blessed his creation of humanity in Genesis, and we have been blessed ever since.
For those of you who might say, yeah but I’ve been through some things since then, well listen to this message that was shared with others who felt UnBlessable.
The message is titled “The Beatitudes”, which is Latin for The Blessings.
The definition for the word Blessed is Empowered to Prosper.
Empowered to Prosper are those who feel unworthy, because the Kingdom of Heaven has been prepared especially for you.
He could have stopped right there. That statement alone would have covered most of the folks hearing that message. But God always gives us more!
Empowered to Prosper are those who are hurting, for they shall be comforted.
Empowered to Prosper are those who are meek and humble. Those who are willing to serve instead of demanding to be served. They will be richly provided for.
I only shared the first 3 Blessings/Empowerments spoken regarding us.
You can read them all for yourself in the Bible, in the books of Matthew chapter 5 and Luke chapter 6.
It’s important that we hear our empowerment for ourselves. That way we can personally refute ALL LIES.
Notice how the Beatitude tells how we feel about ourselves, then it shares the truth of how God feels about us.
God has greater things inside of you and greater things planned for you.
You just have to learn to allow God to have his way in your life.
So, the next time someone tells you to have a Blessed/Empowered to Prosper Day, tell them I Will, and wish them the same.
Wonder what would happen if we began each day by saying, I Have Been Empowered to Prosper?
Maybe that’s the BeOurAtitude!
This is a Thompson Truth
