A NEW DAY

Some of us start the day by hitting the snooze button on the alarm clock, jumping out of the bed at the last minute, rushing to get ready, and then running out the door. 

Others of us, might wake up early in the morning with the mindset that the early bird gets the benefits of the day. 

But when does a new day actually begin? 

Scientist tell us, that the first moment after the Earth completes one rotation around its axis, a new day begins.  A day is typically defined by a twenty-four-hour period. Hence, we consider one minute after midnight the start of a new day.

Days have been around since the very beginning of time.

During creation something new and different was formed each and every day. 

I would image that Day One, all of the greatness and grandeur of light appearing for the first time ever, was quite a spectacular site. Instantly everything was made brighter and better by this single event. 

Day Two, the sky was created, which was also equally great. Seeing the blue hues painted across the backdrop of the horizon with pops of billowy soft clouds scattered here and there, must have been wonderful.

Day after day something new and exciting appeared out of nowhere. 

A new start, for each new day.

Let’s examine how the creation of new day really began.

In each occurrence, at the conclusion of all the wondrous events that went into making a new day, there was a common statement of fact.

“And the evening and the morning were the first day”. 

“And the evening and the morning were the second day”.

“And the evening and the morning were the third day”.

This statement was repeated over and over again from day one all the way through until day six.

During each night things were being transformed. The situation was changing.

That tells me that during the darkest hours of a day something new and wonderful was being created for us.

Perhaps you’ve had a long day. Maybe you would even say it was a bad day. And now it is dark!

Well, right in the middle of your darkest hour is when He is creating something new and better for you.

The sun is preparing itself to shine on you again. You’re getting a new sky, with new heights to soar in. Every creature has just received a fresh touch to begin a new day.

Darkness has given birth to light, not more darkness like we sometimes feel.

At the darkest time of your today, God gave you a new day.

A new start, with a new outlook. 

Take advantage of your new day.

And the evening and the morning were a new day.
