BLESSED

The word Blessed is now mainstream in Popular Culture. You hear it everywhere.

It’s a common salutation spoken among religious, non-religious, retailers, regenerates, athletes and actors. You don’t have to look hard to find someone using the word, Blessed.

It can also be found on a license plate of an expensive vehicle, social media posts which display a palatial mansion with a beautiful compound, exotic vacationers, and on many other items and accomplishments with taglines from the rich and famous.

But are you Blessed because you have money, riches, fame and wealth? That’s all nice and good to have, but does that mean you are Blessed? Is that what Blessed means?

Let’s see what the Bible has to say on this matter.

In the book of Luke 6:20, Jesus said Blessed are the poor. Hmm.

The poor obviously are not rich, so how can they be Blessed?

Let’s look a little further. In the next few verses, Jesus went on to say that those who are hungry, hurt and hated are also Blessed.

Jesus is obviously speaking of a different Blessed than the one we know.

Maybe that’s just how it was referred to in the new section of the Bible.

So, let’s have a look at the old part, in the first books of the Bible way back when. Perhaps it meant something different in Genesis.

In Genesis Chapter 1, God also used the word Blessed several times.

But he too used it differently than how people use it today.

In Pop Culture Blessed is used when referring to people who are well off and got it going on, but when God first used the word, he wasn’t even talking about people.

He said that the birds and animals were Blessed. Wait, what?

Birds don’t have money, mansions, or fine machines. Animals don’t possess fame, fortune, and finances. How are they Blessed?

The original understanding of the word Blessed was an invocation of Divine Favor. Simply put, Blessed meant you had been given Divine Favor. But How?

The verb To Bless originated from the word blodan, which means blood.

So then, the Blessing was the invocation of Divine Favor administered by way of the Blood. Who made the invocation?

God acted as the priest and put Blood on the birds, animals and finally the people he created to bless them with his Divine Favor.

But where did God get the Blood from? Whose Blood, was it? Why is there no mentioning of God putting Blood on anything?

Glad you asked! Allow me to show you.

But before we go there, let’s talk a little about first responders.

My nephew, Christopher, is a first responder on the fire department. I am very proud of him and the life saving work that fire departments all over the world are doing. I salute them.

Sometimes first responders have been summoned to help someone who is not breathing, so they give them mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

This has been referred to as “the kiss of life”. The first responder blows their breath into the other person to get them to breathe. The medical term for this procedure is called CPR, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

This practice is no longer as widespread as it once was for many reasons. One reason is that it was determined that fluids were being transferred from the first responder into the person they were trying to resuscitate and that could create a possible health risk.

Blood is one of fluids that can be transferred during mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Now, let’s go back to our Genesis story of creation.

God was the first responder who blew his breath into that clump of clay that was to be called man.

He blew his breath into the fish, the animals, and mankind.

That’s where the Blood came from.

Thus, we have been Blessed with the invocation of Divine Favor through the Blood of God being exchanged when he gave Adam the “Kiss of Life”.

Want more proof? I’ve got it for you.

There are 8 main blood types: A+, A-, B+, B-, AB+, AB-. O+, and O-.

But they all have one common gene, ABO. This gene comes from your parents.

God is the only father of all human beings, and we all have his ABO gene which proves it. MIND BLOWN!!!!!!

God gave Adam and us CPR, Connection, Purpose, and Redemption.

So yes, we are Blessed, but not because of stuff, because we have Gods blood type running through our veins.

That’s why whether rich or poor, known or unknown, were are Blessed.

We have been Blessed once and for always because God gave us the Kiss of Life.

Now we know Why we are Blessed and Highly Favored!

This is a Thompson Truth
