CHRISTIANITY BUT NO CHRIST
Our individual viewpoints of life are based upon and centered around our own cultural settings, experiences and perspectives. While that may seem obvious, I don’t believe that we fully understand the magnitude of the level of prejudice that it has on our unconscious biases.
The issue is that we are unaware of the origin of many of our foundational ideas and belief systems that our perspectives are based on.
They could have originated from bloodlines or blurred lines. They could be anecdotal or anti-Christ. We don’t know where they come from, all we know is, this is the belief in our individual communities and circles.
Just because someone extracts a value concept from a biblical teaching doesn’t necessarily make it a Christian concept.
You can be kind and not be Christian. You can be loving and not be Christian. You can share many of the attributes of Christianity and still not be Christian. You can love God, and not be Christian.
Christianity was intended to represent more discipline than the military, rather than causing more laughs than an amusement park. We see more of the latter, that’s why the lack of respect is so prevalent.
It has become a very popular and profitable theme to offer what would appear to be a Christian principle without being Christian.
Unfortunately, much of what we are seeing in today’s culture, that is said to represent Christianity is not Christian. It’s Moralism, and they are not the same thing.
Moralism says do good; Christianity requires you be the good you want to see. There is no Good without God.
In the marketplace, the place where the main goal is to make and get money, or in man’s organized religion called Church, rarely is there a display of the true character and integrity of Christianity.
Much of what we are seeing is like flowers arranged in a vase. They look nice, smell good and appear to be well put together/pre-arranged.
It looks perfect. But, in reality they have no roots and won’t allow you to see their dirt. Dirt is a sign that growth is still taking place. Every living thing will always have some connection to dirt.
The illusion they are selling is, this is how you should want to be. Detached, desensitized, unaffected, without any life challenges. Fake!
“You will know a tree by the fruit that it yields”. Fake tress can’t produce fruit. Real trees produce fruit because they SEEK the LIGHT.
CHRIST-IANITY that has no CHRIST is “I” ANITY. Their god is the god of “I”. It is a countercultural counterfeit to biblical Christianity a.k.a. Moralism. Where each individual determines their own standards.
CHRIST is not a surname. THE CHRIST signifies the manifestation, embodiment and reflection of the full nature, essence, and character of God.
Any society that calls for tolerance and acceptance, without a real connection to God, will never achieve it. Many have tried and failed.
Humans in and of themselves alone are incapable of living out any consistent and sustainable evidence of the values of love, compassion, kindness, and sacrifice for others, without Gods involvement.
Love is a unwavering committed decision, not a conditional emotion.
When a culture requires Christians to privatize their faith, that culture has no roots, its only concern is the appearance. Unfortunately, there are many places with/without a cross & steeple who are willing to oblige.
The more the world looks nothing like God, the more Christians should.
I’ve heard it said, if there are those who don’t know God, but know you… would they want to know God because they know you.
Or will they simply settle for a cut-flower religion that pretends to do good but that will eventually wither and fade away.
Will they Know Christ or prefer No Christ.
