EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON

I would imagine that most, if not all of us, have heard, or used the expression, “Everything happens for a reason”.

Generally, it is used when something unexpected, bad, or confusing, happens.

We don’t know what to say, or we can’t explain what just happened.

So, we just say. Everything happens for a reason.

That kind of reminds me of another popular saying, “it is what it is”.

This too is often used when we don’t know what to say.

It is what it is, but do we know why it is?

Yes, everything happens for a reason, but do we know the reason?

Its kind of like being given an equation to solve, and the answer you give or get is that math can be quite tricky you know.

While being true, it doesn’t answer the equation we were given.

We might believe there is a reason, but we don’t know where or how to look for it.

Today I want to attempt to give us a template to use to answer those equations.

We’ve all had bad, unforeseen, or puzzling, things happen to us.

Sometimes there is a tendency to try and compensate for things we don’t know.

By compensate I mean to ignore, or try and cover it up.

We might not realize that the message, is inside the mess that is before us.

So, when we want to quickly rid ourselves of the mess, we miss the message that was contained therein.

Your mess, my mess, has an encrypted message, aka answer, on the inside of it for us.

Only we can see it, others can’t fully see it for us.

They can help, but we must get that message for ourselves.

The reason that we have not been able to solve those puzzling equations in our life is because we are using the wrong formula.

We try to figure out everything for ourselves.

We use past experiences, past lessons, folks we trust, and podcasts we’ve heard, books we’ve read.

All these things are knowledge based. Knowledge cannot solve these equations.

Knowledge is unilateral, these equations are universal. These same things happen to all of us.

Knowledge is personal, flat, sequential, and horizontal in its progressions.

In other words, you only know something after you have gone through it.

We aren’t using the correct tool for the job. Knowledge comes later in the game.

We need something to assist us while things are yet happening in our lives. We need something that transcends what we know.

We need Wisdom! Wisdom is vertical in its progressions. Always ascending. Growing, learning, teaching, helping.

Wisdom elevates us to a level to see over the obstacles, unlike Knowledge which is horizontal and flat. Knowledge only see’s the next challenge, not the next answer.

How do I get wisdom? Glad you asked. Only God, can give us wisdom.

We know the WHAT, but only God knows the WHY.

God said that if anyone wants wisdom, just ask him for it, and he will give you as much as you need.

Two key lessons I’ve learned here.

#1 Ask God when you are ready and open to hear what he has to say.

#2 The information you will receive will be unconventional, weird, quirky.

(God’s word says, His ways are not like our ways) Expect something different.

The next time something happens that you didn’t expect, that made you feel sad, or confused, don’t say “Everything happens for a Reason”.

Ask God for wisdom to understand the message in the mess.

                                              This is a Thompson Truth.
