EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Many of us, might have gained Faith from an experience that we had.
Perhaps there was a time when we experienced something that was so profound that it literally changed our belief.
In than one instance we went from not believing, to believing.
Some things only resonate when we can experience them.
For example, Thomas said that he would not believe that Jesus was alive unless he saw him with his own two eyes.
I can personally say there have been some things that I would not have believed unless I saw it for myself.
These are examples of experimental learning.
Perhaps you can think of something that you didn’t believe in until you experienced for yourself.
Our experiences help to determine our perspective or belief system.
We believe for good based on the good experiences we’ve had, and likewise with the bad ones.
Some of us have had good experiences with God, while others have had bad experiences with him.
It my sincere prayer that through these Truths I have been sharing you will begin to have some good experiences with God.
Our spirit looks through the eyes of our perspectives and experiences to comprehend and understand what we actually have faith in.
Having Faith without any experiences to reference it to, is rare and uncommon.
Some might even say that you cannot have faith without an experience.
Faith takes place in us once we have learned to believe based on our experiences.
One could say then that we are Experientially Learning.
Experientially learning is just simply the process of learning through our experiences.
In other words, we learn through the reflections of doing.
God is also an experiential learner.
Imagine if you truly loved someone so bad that you wanted to feel what they feel.
That’s God. He wants to feel what we feel, cry when we cry, laugh when we laugh.
To do that, he had to become an experiential learner.
He knows what we are going to go through, but he wants to know how we feel when we go through it.
Recently I shared in The Supreme Attestation that, God Has Faith in You! THE SUPREME ATTESTATION — Benton T. Thompson III (bentonthompsoniii.com)
The way that God gets faith in us, is through the experiences he shares with us.
God wants to experience our life, with us, through us, our eyes, ears, emotions, and feelings. Experientially.
Look at what a psalmist wrote, you keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.
I want you are not alone in what you are going through.
God wants us to know, that he is right there experiencing it right along with us.
This is a Thompson Truth
