HEART HEALTH - AWARENESS
Health is always an important topic of discussion, whether young or old.
Previously we had a few discussions on Mental Health, which so many people are talking about these days. Visit MENTAL HEALTH — Benton T. Thompson III
In keeping with the topic of Health, today we’ll be looking into Heart Health, and making sure that we have good Awareness on that subject.
Did you know that Heart disease, is a major global health issue, causing millions of deaths.
In fact, global deaths total 68 million annually, and heart attacks are the leading cause with almost 20 million people dying each year.
Reports indicate that roughly half of all heart attacks go unrecognized, a condition that is known as a “silent heart attack”.
Before our discussion of our Heart Health, I’d like to establish a few ground rules, if you will allow me.
Ground rule#1 Everything Physical was created by Spiritual. “and God said”
Ground rule#2 There are 2 worlds: A Spiritual World and a Physical World. “Heaven and Earth”
In Hebrews 11, it states that the worlds, were created by things not seen. Reiterating the concept, that all things Physical came from the Spiritual.
Ground rule#3 There are Spiritual realities and Physical realities.
Sickness is a Physical reality; Miracles are a Spiritual reality.
Grief is a Physical reality; Peace is a Spiritual reality.
Death is a Physical reality; Everlasting Life is a Spiritual reality.
All are true and quite real.
There is a whole Physical world out there that science is just beginning to learn about, that Spiritual Wisdom has always known about.
Meanwhile, the Spiritual world remains largely untapped due to deception and misperception.
Many tend to rely heavily upon the Physical reality, as their truth, regarding only what they see, hear, feel, taste and smell. Their 5 senses.
Ground rule#4 There are Physical senses as well as Spiritual senses. Sight is a Physical sense, Insight is a Spiritual sense.
Ground rule#5 Spiritual realities cannot be known by Physical means. But every Physical reality has a Spiritual footprint. IVF / Birth of Christ. God did it first, but only he did it without any participation from a man.
Consider this, when you desire a thing, that’s Spiritual, then you receive it, that’s Physical. Now you can hold it and touch it Physically, after it has been manifested from the Spiritual realm. A Thought Baby.
We’re not here to discuss all the things we have Thought to Life. OMG
The thing we desire first begins as a thought, and the Bible states that all thoughts originate in the heart.
Here’s a few examples. “Confess with your mouth, what belief is in the Heart.” Rom 10. ”the fool said in his heart, there is no God” Psalm 14.
Ground rule #6 There is a Physical Heart and a Spiritual Heart
The Bible mentions the heart more than 1,000 times, but rarely was it referring to the physical organ that is in our bodies.
The Bible says the heart is where life and strength are stored. It is the source of both good and bad behaviors, while also being the home for all intellectual activity, emotional life, and physical life.
The heart is also the source of desires, passions, judgement & joy. It is the place of both volition and violence, where a person can decide to submit to, or resist their desires.
A Heart Attack occurs because of what happened to it. Do you know what has happened to YOUR HEART?
A Heart attack is not only a Physical medical condition, but also a Spiritual metaphysical condition denoting a Spiritual crisis.
You could suffer from a Spiritual Heart attack, what science calls a “silent heart attack”, long before ever having a Physical one.
Things like unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, jealousy, and judgement affect us far deeper than do things like salt and fried foods.
Wonder how many Spiritual Heart Attacks some of us have had?
When there is blockage, is it a collapsed vein, or a collapsed Spirit?
Our Physical body can process natural temporal elements far better than our Spiritual body can process cosmic eternal elements.
A belly ache can be gone in a few hours, but betrayal can last a lifetime. You can’t use the same remedy for heartburn, and for a broken heart.
Maybe, that is why this Proverb says, “above all else guard your Heart, because it is the wellspring of your life”.
We are not Physical beings, having a Spiritual experience, we are Spiritual beings, living in a Physical world.
Medical studies have shown that significant spiritual struggles, can negatively affect Heart Health by contributing to stress and anxiety.
Engaging in Spiritual practices like prayer and meditation have been known to lower one’s heart rate and help manage other risk factors.
When was your last Spiritual checkup?
Or Echocardiogram for your Spiritual Heart?
Don’t forget we have a Chief Cardiologist in the Family… ABBA, Our Father. He’s seen more than 100 billion patients since time began.
Here’s what He told a patient named Jeremiah, some 2,600 years ago.
I, the LORD, search the Heart, and I test the mind. I will give to everyone according to their ways.
Look at this patient request from a Psalmist 3,000 years ago.
Examine me O God and help me to know my own heart. Test me and help me know my thoughts. Show me where I am on an evil path to death. Then lead me onto the everlasting path of life.
Lord, please help us all get Heart Healthy. Both Physically & Spiritually.
