Today, I THOUGHTS SO Part 4 is Thinking of You!
Have you ever given thought to What is a Thought? Where does it come from? What does it do?
Is it signals being fed to our brain from satellite beams? Is it someone trying to control us?
What purpose does a thought serve? Why do we have them?
Here’s what I’ve found out. Thoughts are just information that gets released into our brain.
Information received as nebulous as a joke, or something as grave as the details of a murder.
It’s all just information. The Bible, the newspaper, the web, family, friends, experiences, etc.
Thoughts are everything that we encounter. Everything we experience is reflected in a thought.
You’re likely having thoughts right now, as you’re taking in this message.
Maybe about me, yourself, God, the devil, lunch, sleep, government, and other random things.
We don’t have a lot of control over where the information comes from, what it is, or who sends it.
However, our control/power lies within a very critical area. It is in the handling of those thoughts.
How you handle those thoughts means everything. Thinking of You
If you were told to consume 2 toxic gases that could kill you, your answer would be NO WAY!
But what if those gases were handled or processed properly, as in H2O? I’ll drink to that.
Our thoughts can be handled in a Toxic manner or a Healthy manner. WE make that choice.
I shared in Part 2 that our thoughts generally fall into 1 of 2 categories, Empowering Thoughts or Debilitating Thoughts. Toxic or Healthy. We get to choose which, is which.
Many of us have likely heard this proverb, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” Proverbs 18:21
Notice it says the “power of the tongue”. Which infers that the tongue has the capability but not the authority. It has the power, but not the right. It has juice, but the switch must be flipped.
You see, the tongue is empowered by the thoughts we think on. Thinking about a thought is what gives the tongue the power/the green light to go ahead and speak on it.
To speak death or life over a situation, over a relationship, over your child, over your body, over your future.
God puts it this way… Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things. Philippians 4:8
God knows that what we think on, we’re likely to say it. We’re going to put thoughts into action through our words. And thoughts into words is exactly how God created everything.
We are made in his image, which means we are made in his likeness. We too can speak things into existence.
The real power of thinking a thought is there expression through words which will manifest what we said because we are made in the image of a speak and it will happen God!
Words are one of Gods greatest gifts to us. Every parent looks forward to hearing their children speak their first words. Dada or Mama. Some shed tears when they hear their child’s first words.
This displays a critical cognitive skill set. The child understands whose presence they are in.
Do we know that we are in the presence of the Almighty God who we get to call Daddy; Abba?
Words are the mechanism through which we translate the thoughts we think into reality.
Think on these things, not other things.
Words are how we exchange Thoughts for Ideas. Hopes for Dreams. Sickness for Health. Lack for Riches. Despair for Belief. The devil for God.
Our thoughts are far greater than the words we can use to express them, yet there are unlimited ways to use words. King Solomon, the wisest man in the world, understood this.
He brought the power of thoughts, words, and the tongue into a completely new light. Life and Death are contained in our words..
Our thinking thoughts can heal, destroy, bless, curse, reject, empower, draw, or repel. Our thoughts have unlimited power.
Since every thought matters, that means that every word must also matter. Yikes!
My thoughts have power, because they light the fuse, to ignite my words, to create an explosion in my atmosphere, to bring light to the dark areas, bring heaven out of hell, and cause calmness to come forth from confusion, just like it did when my father God spoke his thoughts in Genesis.
Don’t be fooled. THERE ARE NO EMPTY WORDS!
Here are 3 tips to help be aware of the fuse your tongue lights with words from your thoughts.
1. Be very intentional, selective, and thoughtful about your words.
"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry," – James 1:19
2. Be honest and considerate with your words.
“Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.” – Ephesians 4:25
3. Be gracious and kind with your words.
“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” – Colossians 4:6
I recently read a quote that said the best thinking is rethinking.
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
GOD IS THINKING OF YOU.
