IMAGINARY FAITH part 2
Is Imaginary Faith, really something we should be exploring?
It’s gotta be sacrilegious or something, doesn’t it?
I’ve never heard of such a thing before!
What’s God have to say about all this? I’m glad you asked.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” Ephesians 3:20
Who knew that Gods wants to do immeasurably more for us, than we could even imagine?
Well, He does! But there is just one catch.
We must be able to imagine what we asked for.
Yep, you gotta see it first, or you will never see it.
You see we’ve all asked, and asked, and asked before. Right?
The problem was not with the asking, the problem was with the imagining it being done. That which we asked for.
That means that all this time we’ve been holding our own selves back, due to our lack of imagination.
So, It wasn’t the Man…it wasn’t the Woman.
It wasn’t the devil…it wasn’t even God. It was us!
The word of God tells us that we were made in the Image of God.
Image is the root word of imagination.
This means were created by Gods Imagination or his Imaginary Faith!
God imagined you and me long before he made us.
The proof is in the pudding they say. Well, let’s have some pudding then.
“Before I began to form you in the womb, I knew you, and before you came out of the womb to be born, I set selected you, and set you apart from others; I called and appointed you to be MY Prophet to the nations” Jeremiah 1:5
God told Jeremiah, I saw you, before I saw you.
The same can be said for each of us. God saw us, before he saw us.
Now that’s pretty Powerful when you think about it.
God Saw/Imagined you and me Being Better and Doing Better than we are right now.
God Saw/Imagined Us Happier, than we are right now!
God Saw/Imagined Us More Peaceful, than we are right now!
God Saw/Imagined Us Healthier, than we are right now!
God Saw/Imagined Us Wealthier, than we are right now!
Notice I didn’t say Richer, because Riches are limited, but Wealth is generational.
Riches just means you got stuff, Wealth shows you have the wisdom to know what to do with the stuff once you get it.
According to the New York Daily News, some 70% of lottery winners (Riches) end up completely broke within seven years of receiving the money.
Even worse, the report goes on to show that several winners have died untimely and horrible deaths after winning, and many have witnessed those closest to them die, without even being able to help them financially.
That’s why God wants us Wealthier not just Richer.
Imagination can be either good or evil. God speaks of those who used evil imaginations several times throughout his Holy Word. Their end was unpleasant.
That’s why were talking about Imaginary Faith, not just Imagination.
Imagine in Greek is Meletao. Which means to mediate on.
So, whenever you see someone in the Bible talking about meditating, they are basically talking about using their imagination.
The great warrior and leader, Joshua said he was going to meditate/imagine Gods Word coming to pass in his life day and night.
His imagination gave him numerous victories despite the odds being against him.
Abraham mediated/imagined what God could do for him by looking up into the night sky and seeing all the stars.
His imagination grew larger after he saw the vast universe, and he believed that surely God could bless him with one, little, tiny, baby, despite being his being almost 100 years old.
David, Esther, Ruth, Samson, Jabez, all used their Imaginary Faith to get results.
Jesus would often go away and meditate/imagine how God could save his life even after others would tragically take it.
He saw/imagined his resurrection, long before we ever saw his resurrection.
How many times have we said, I can’t imagine myself doing _________.
I can’t imagine myself being _________________.
Maybe that’s been our problem.
God is waiting on Us now, to put our Imaginary Faith to good use!
And once we do, he will immensely exceed all our imagination.
Are you Ready? Let’s get to using Our Imaginary Faith
This is a Thompson Truth
