ITTY BITTY FAITH

I’m guessing that when many of you saw this title, you probably said to yourself, where in the world is he going with this one.

Well let me tell you.

When it comes to having Faith, or as I previously said “Faithing for something”, many of us might be a bit apprehensive at times.

The apprehension comes in the form of; Do I have enough Faith, to believe for, what I am believing for? Sometimes just the very thought alone of asking for something can be a nerve wrecking experience by itself. That is before we also consider the fact that we must stand, wait, and act like we believe it will happen, just in order to get it to happen.

Sheesh! That can be a tall order for anyone of us. But there is hope. We might think an undertaking like that would require great Faith. Nope. It doesn’t. Not even a good amount of Faith.

It only requires ITTY BITTY FAITH!

Let me show you.

Teeny Tiny, Itsy Bitsy, Itty Bitty.                                                                                            

These phrases all are indicating the same thing, a very small amount or portion size. That’s all the Faith that is required by God to see your prayers answered. I know to our natural minds that doesn't make sense. We normally think you must bet big, to win big. 

But, with God things work a little bit different.  

In my Faith manual I focused on two separate references to the amount of Faith we should have. In the first reference we are told to observe the tiniest of all creatures, an ant.

An ant could be easily stepped on by one of us, blown away by a gentle breeze, washed away by a light rain, or disposed of very easily by something that we would consider insignificant. Yet, the ant endures, unphased by any of it. It is reported that an ant can lift ten times its own weight, objects much bigger than itself. How is that even possible? It is because of the Faith that an ant has. Which brings me to the second reference on Faith that I saw in the Faith manual.

It referenced that we only need to have Faith the size of a mustard seed. To gain perspective, I went to a grocery store and purchased some mustard seeds. They are really, quite small. One might even say, ITTY BITTY.

In the palm of an average adult hand, one could easily hold over 200 mustard seeds. Take a look at the picture shown. All We need is the amount of Faith in the size of one of these seeds. Just One of them!

An ant is slightly larger than a mustard seed, yet it has mustard seed Faith. I wonder what we could lift, carry, endure if we exercised some Itty, Bitty Faith. 

I’ve provided myself with constant reminders of the amount of Faith that I need to have for the things that I am Faithing for all around me. I placed a mustard seed beside several light switches and doorways in my home, in my vehicle, at work, and I carry one in my pocket. So, wherever I go, wherever I am, I remind myself I only need the Itty, Bitty, Faith of the mustard seed to go on.

Our faith will grow just like the mustard seed when we bury it down deep on the inside of us, where it can take root and be fed by the watering of our words. 

Words like; I can, I will, I believe, all water our ITTY. BITTY, MUSTARD SEED FAITH.
