THE POWER OF BELIEVING
In some of our previous messages we’ve talked about doubt, unbelief, and how it can sometimes be hard to believe.
Today I wanted us to discuss The Power of Believing.
I recently read a Pew Research study that said 80% of Americans believe in God, and 20% of them don’t.
Of the 20% that don’t believe in God, 10% of them do however believe in a higher power or spiritual force, while the other 10% don’t believe in anything at all.
As for the 80% that do believe in God, about 2/3 of them believe in the God of the Bible, while the other 1/3 believe in a higher power or spiritual force different than the one the Bible speaks of.
The study goes on to talk about those who believe in the God of the Bible, and how they believe he effects everyday life.
27% believe that God always determines everything that happens. While 21% believe that he is involved most of the time, still yet 18% believe that he gets involved some of the time, and 9% believe that he hardly ever gets involved, 13% believe he never gets involved, and 10% simply just don’t know.
I find this all very interesting given what the Power of Believing can do.
When we believe we can reach heights we’ve never dreamed of, we can set new records, overcome difficult obstacles, open locked doors, and unlock a greatness within ourselves that we never knew existed before.
We’ve all likely heard it said, “If you can Believe it, then you can Achieve it.”
This is So True!
When our belief is strong, then we are strong. And when we are strong, we perform better, think more clearly, operate in wisdom, move more precisely, we’re more resilient, and are more centered in our focus.
Now, we can understand why there is such a fight for us to NOT BELIEVE.
My faith manual tells of two blind men who were following the crowd believing for a miracle to receive their sight. They called for Jesus to have mercy on them and professed they believed they would see again.
Jesus simply said to them, “According to your faith, it will happen”, and their sight was restored.
This was a wonderful example of the Power of Believing.
I’d like to share with you 3 significant things that I have found that the Power of Believing will do for us when we activate it.
Number one, the Power of Believing will Increase Your Strength and Resiliency.
When you commit to Fully Believing it gives you relentless perseverance. You will do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, and give as much as it takes, because you know that everything you do, it will be worth it.
You will commit and recommit as many times as it takes. You say to yourself I will grind, I will work, I will do anything to gain what I am believing for, because Fully Believing gives you an unshakeable resolve. You will never quit, never slow down, never give up, you will get stronger when adversity comes because you will see that as a sign that you are on the right path and victory must be close.
Secondly, the Power of Believing will Sharpen Your View of the Vision
When you Fully Believe, you are committing to the invisible not the visible. Fully Believing lets you see yourself accomplishing the goal long before you will see it. Just as the 2 blind men gained clearer sight of the vision by Fully Believing before they gained their actual sight. 1st it must take place in the Spiritual realm, then we will see it manifested in the Natural realm.
Your sharpened vision helps you ignore all the nay sayers, haters, malcontents, and discouragers telling you this won’t ever happen. Saying, Who are you to believe that God will do ______ for you? You tell them I am a Believer and God always keeps his word to the Believers!
And lastly, The Power of Believing will Energize Your Activities
Believing unleashes a power that you did not know was locked inside of you. It will change the very atmosphere around you. Fully Believing gives you access to an anointing power that God has only made available to those who Fully Believe.
Your gifts, talents, education, influence, and desires are not enough to see you through this whole journey. Only Fully Believing will empower you with the strength to hold off the doubt, push back the unbelief, failures, setbacks, and delays when they come, because they will surely come.
But it’s okay, you’ll be ready.
Let’s start walking in the Full Power of Believing.
