A PARADIGMATIC CONVERSION

A Paradigm is a Greek verb, which means “to show”.

The scientific community calls a Paradigm, a theoretical framework.

In laymen’s terms, it means our theories/thoughts frame the world in which we live.

Here’s a proverb that says that same thing, “as one thinks in his heart, so is he, in behavior”.

Sometimes we speak words of action, but our words don’t translate into action.

That’s when we need a Paradigmatic Conversion.

“I’m tired of continually making bad choices”, you need a Paradigmatic Conversion.

“I don’t know why I keep connecting with losers”, you need a Paradigmatic Conversion.

“I continually seem to ____”(whatever bad thing you want to use here), you need a Paradigmatic Conversion.

I often say, If, you are tired of getting what you’ve been getting, Then, you need to change what you’ve been doing.

Simply, Change, what you do, then you will Change what you get.

Keep doing what you’ve been doing, Then, you will keep getting what you’ve been getting. That seems pretty straight forward, right?

Another word that means the same thing as Paradigmatic Conversion, is Repent.

Now before you go off and get upset with me, and say I’m judging you, just hear me out.

The Greek word for Repent is metanoia, which simply means, a change of mind.

A change of mind, is not the same thing, as turning away from sin; however, it could lead to that.

A change of mind, simply means, just that. Change Your Mind.

Change how you’ve been thinking. Think differently than what you’ve been thinking.

Repent. Stop thinking one way and begin thinking another way. It has nothing to do with religion.

“Re”, means to return, or go back. “Pent” is the high place, like a penthouse.

We need to begin thinking, with a higher mindset, than what we have been.

Repent, does not mean to feel remorseful. It doesn’t mean to feel sorry. It doesn’t mean to feel ashamed. It doesn’t mean to feel bad.

It’s not about Feelings. Its about Changing.

Changing what and how we are thinking.

Albeit a change of thought should lead to a change in behavior, but that’s not what the word means.

To say I Repent is not about a confession, it’s about an action.

It means, we will begin showing our change.

You cannot make change unless you have change.

Change your thoughts and you’ll change your life, otherwise known as, Repent.

Think about some areas in your life that you would like to see a change in.

Write them down. Be as vague or as concise as you would like to be.

Be intentional. Be deliberate about some things that you really want changed.

Things are, the way they are, as a result of how we are thinking.

Nothing happens without there first being a thought about it.

Other people are not to blame for our life, not the devil, not even God.

God says whatever we think, is the life we have.

“As one thinks in his heart, so is he, in behavior”. Everything began as a thought.

So, let’s put that to the test. Let’s Repent and get some different results heading our way as we try beginning thinking higher thoughts. Amen?

This is a Thompson truth
