INSATIABLE
What images comes to mind when you hear the word insatiable? A thirst that you can never quench. An itch that can never be fully scratched, or perhaps an appetite for something that can never be quite satisfied. What is it that you have an insatiable uncontrollable craving for? Is it food, money, power, prestige, a person. Maybe you should not answer this one out loud. (smile)
For many among us, we have an insatiable craving to be loved. What would getting a love note mean to your heart right now? To hear from someone who completely adores you. A secret admirer.
Someone who pursues you with a love and asks for nothing in return? They know all your flaws, yet they still love you anyway. God has that insatiable love for all of us. He is our secret admirer. Our struggles only stimulate his insatiable ambition to be there for us.
God’s love is a jealous love. Not like our human jealousy which is prideful and competitive. His jealousy makes him protect us from anyone or anything that seeks to cause us harm.
God knows that no one can love us better than he. Because no one loves us more than he does.
The love of God will never take advantage of us, or ever lie to us. God has an insatiable obsession to win our hearts, and nothing else matters to Him. All our pain, shame, brokenness, and regrets are safe with Him. He wants every bit of us. That is what His love is all about.
Absorbing, dissolving, and restoring us to a state of wholeness. That is His heart for you and me.
God is the only one who can fulfill a marriage vow to the letter. He pledges for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love, honor and to cherish, and He says I AM/ I WILL always be there for you!
You are his baby, his honey, his sweetheart, his love! He does not require performance, nor perfection from us. He will never stop pursuing your heart until you surrender to His affection. Our fragile love is safe with Him because He carries the weight of the relationship. How much of our lives have we spent starving to be loved with an insatiable love?
The overwhelming need to be loved by somebody, anybody, can be found at the heart of many of the decision we make, the thoughts we think, the perspectives we see-through, and the actions we take. We are created with a longing to be loved. God formed us with an insatiable need for love because he desires to satisfy that longing, as only he can.
You see, we no longer need to go through life wondering if we are loved. God does not hide his heart from us. He never holds back his love. He loves us with an insatiable love.
Consistently, Unconditionally, Unconventionally, and Unashamedly…HE LOVES YOU!
As soon as we feel the need to be loved we can always turn our hearts toward our heavenly Father and simply receive a fresh touch of his powerful, unconditional love. Stop working to be loved. You do not have to work for what has already been freely given to you.
Find a quiet place, let God put His arms around you, lean against His chest, and listen to His heartbeat for YOU. In the intimate, sweet space of His covering and deep affection is the place where we can release our all pain, control, fear, and brokenness.
In God’s presence, we can truly surrender ALL.
So, when Valentine’s day rolls around, remember you have always been loved, every day, every minute, in every situation of your life with an insatiable love from God.
Here is what it all comes down to… If God were a person, he would be your stalker.
May you never be the same again.
This is a very heartfelt, Thompson Truth.
